FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How do the items I donate make a difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities?
- Each donation creates jobs in the areas of receiving, sorting, hanging, tagging, stocking, etc.. Then when the items sell in our store (or are recycled), money is generated to pay our people and support our program. Many of our client workers need a sheltered environment to be successful - MARVA provides that for them.
Is MARVA supported by the government?
- MARVA is a private nonprofit organization. We do receive some monetary support from local, state and federal sources, however 88% of our revenue comes from self generated sources like our store, recycling, ink pens and subcontract type activities - the same areas that create meaningful work for our people.
Is my donation tax deductible?
- Yes, we are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
Do you give receipts for donations?
- Yes, we will be glad to give you a receipt for you to use when filing your taxes.
When are you open for business?
- Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, we have adjusted our hours to allow time for extra cleaning, disinfecting, etc.
- Our Resale Store is open 6 days a week. Monday - Friday 9 AM - 5 PM and Saturday 9 AM - 4 PM.

- Our MARVA Administrative Office (located at 111 East 13th St.) is open from 8 AM to 4 PM.
What items do you take?
- We accept a wide variety of gently used items as donations. Generally, if you would not be willing to buy and use an item yourself, then we won't be able to sell it either.
Where do I take my donation?
- Once you enter our parking lot on South Arkansas, pull through the open gate on the north side of our building. There will be a set of double doors by the air conditioning units. Someone will be out to assist you.
